…About the Artist – Jan Sands:

I am an Australian Artist with a successful career as a graphic artist, illustrator and fine arts creator for more than a decade.

I attended Art School as a full time student of fine arts in the 1970’s.

Over the years I have had a number of successful exhibitions joint and solo both locally and interstate, and am available for commissioned work.

 I am inspired by nature and passionate about wildlife. I particularly enjoy painting detailed and realistic interpretations of Australia’s incredibly unique animals and birds.

The paintings that I produce are very time consuming taking many hours to complete.

It gives me a great deal of pleasure and is my form of meditation.

I am currently painting on canvas with acrylics. I also do watercolour, quite a different result – love both mediums.
