ARTIST NOTES: I’m inspired by the everyday world around me and as a creative being I feel the need to create art. The technique of the background in this painting has a lot of layers and textures of paint organically arranged using wide brushes. Also some pouring and maneuvering of the paint loosely and creatively. Then, outlining the shape of the woman holding the bananas, ‘The Banana Girl’ really filled the canvas space. I then painted the image with bright acrylic colours using palate knives and small brushes.
