ARTIST NOTES: My goal with my art is to create beautiful paintings that fill homes with colour and enhance the atmosphere with a sense of colourful culture. Once selecting my bright colour palette I then enjoy the element of applying paint organically. As an artist I enjoy both the abstract flow which can be seen in this background and also the element of detail and structure which can be seen in the woman’s image. This Latin beauty named ‘Bonita’ is from the Bahia region of Brazil. I really zoned in on the skin texture by applying layers of paint with a pallet knife. I would apply and scrape off paint then reapply to create realism in the skins tone, shade, highlights and depth.
