ARTIST BIO

My area of creative practice and specialisation is in Mixed Media Art and Jewellery. I work with a range of paint and drawing media, textiles, printmaking and embroidery to produce mixed media works on canvas. My jewellery pieces include hand made production and bespoke silver, copper and brass jewellery incorporating photography, wood and hand cut semiprecious gemstones.

Additionally I have a successful children's art class and adult workshop business, teaching 4 classes across a week and am developing an outreach program to Early Years Services and Community groups using art to support positive adult and child relationships, build dialogue and engagement in services.

I work primarily from my studio at the Fleurieu Arthouse in McLaren Vale.

Drawing on study across the arts through various tertiary short courses over a 30 year period, I combine this with extensive experience as an Early Years Teacher. I now run a full time contemporary arts and education business. I focus on art as a vehicle to explore community, culture and connection. Recent works depict themes around colonisation in South Australia and I am working towards a body of work exploring identity, the artefacts that describe and shape us.

I am motivated by relationships, aesthetics and creativity with an explorative narrative expressed across all artworks.
